  In January 2004, Cornerstone Bank of York, Nebraska and the Upper Big Blue NRD signed a triennial agreement and entered into a collaborative partnership sharing a small section of irrigated land that Cornerstone Bank manages to be designated as an agricultural test and education project.  CROP-TIP, which is an acronym for “Cornerstone Resources Observation Plot-Test Irrigation Project” is a 24-acre site along Highway 81, just north of the Moses Ford Motor Company in York.  This original three-year project has generated a great deal of publicity and some producers in the NRD are now using this research in their own operations.  Below are the Final Reports profiling this very successful project.  Click on any report cover to read that issue:

The Upper Big Blue NRD has assisted several FFA groups with projects, public presentations, scholarships and state/regional competitions all centered around the research conducted at CROP-TIP.  If your FFA group or school organization would like assistance, and or curriculum enhancement, please Contact the NRD.

 

The Hampton FFA Chapter has gone to state twice with their research program at CROP-TIP (pictured to the right).
