NeRAIN

"Conservation is the 'Nature' of Our Business"

During the spring of 2004, the Upper Big Blue NRD partnered with 12 other NRDs statewide

to develop the “Nebraska Rainfall Assessment and Information Network (NeRAIN)”

The original 12 NRDs that helped start the NeRAIN network are the Little Blue, Lower Big Blue, Upper Big Blue, Lower Republican, Middle Republican, Upper Republican, Tri-Basin, Central Platte, Twin Platte, South Platte, North Platte, Lower Loup, and Upper Loup.  Today, the network encompasses the entire state.  Approximately 500 volunteers form the NeRAIN network of rain gauge readers across Nebraska. The information that NeRAIN volunteers provide through their readings affect local, state, and National Weather Service reporting.  [Click the NeRAIN logo above to take you to that website.]
