The NRD Recreation Exploration challenges participants to visit as many Natural Resources District (NRD) recreation areas as they can between March 1 and September 18, 2026. It is designed to inspire individuals and families to venture outside and explore the state's natural beauty, while also promoting physical activity and fostering environmental stewardship. Those taking part in NRD Recreation Exploration have the chance to win monthly prizes, with a grand prize drawing for a $1,500 Scheels gift card.
To participate, individuals can follow these simple steps:
- Visit any NRD recreation area across the state.
- Take a photo with the rec area sign or a landmark to show you were there.
- Upload the photo here before the event ends on September 18, 2026.
