Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE Camp)

-

Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE Camp) is a 4-day, 3-night summer camp that provides youth with hands-on experiences that educate about Nebraska’s natural resources. ACE Camp takes place June 21-24, 2026 near Burwell at Kamp Kaleo and is hosted by the Lower Loup NRD with support from other NRDs and conservation organizations.

Core sessions at ACE Camp may include forestry, water, range, soils, and wildlife taught by experts in those fields. Other sessions include fishing, archery, birdwatching, edible wild plants, entomology, paleontology, nature photography and more. Adding to this summer camp experience are campfire gatherings, river excursions, and other recreational field trips led by Kamp Kaleo staff and volunteers.

ACE Camp is open to students preparing to enter 7th or 8th grade during the 2026-2027 academic year. ACE Camp tuition includes meals, shirt, and lodging. Scholarships from the Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District are available for students residing within the District.  We hope to have at least one camper from each of the 23 NRDs attend ACE Camp.  Register by June 1, 2026.
