John Miller has lived in Hamilton County, Nebraska, all of his life. He is a retired farmer and a semi-retired crop adjuster. His interests are sports and spending time with his kids and grandkids at their activities and athletics. He has served on the board since 2009 because he wants to “preserve and protect our natural resources.” Miller has served on the Nebraska Corn Growers Board, the Nebraska Fair Managers Board, and the Hamilton County Agricultural Society. He also represented the Blue Basin on the Natural Resources Commission for four years.

“I feel my experiences working for the best interests of the general public helps me make informed decisions. I think my life experiences have given me the vision to be able to look at all sides of an issue and make a decision that will benefit the most constituents.

Miller wishes that more people would take the time to understand that “there may be two or more sides to an issue and try to understand how something may affect others.” He also would like the public to understand that the NRD does more than irrigation regulation.
