Krausnick assumes new role at Upper Big Blue

The Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District has announced the promotion of Marie Krausnick to the position of assistant general manager. Krausnick has served in the water department of the Upper Big Blue NRD for 21 years, the last seven of those as department manager. As water department manager, she has managed a staff of ten employees and an annual budget of close to $1 million. Krausnick has had direct oversight of public facing projects such as Project GROW, walk-in water testing, certification of irrigated acres, well monitoring, water use reporting, and annual water quantity measuring, among others.

“Marie has done a tremendous job in leading the water department,” said David Eigenberg, general manager. “This promotion will retain her many years of experience and water knowledge in our organization.” Krausnick will be involved in training her successor in the water department and will continue to serve within the water department in some capacity through the transition period.

“I’m pleased to be stepping into this new role and to continue to serve the constituents of this district,” said Krausnick.

Krausnick holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She is also a graduate of the Nebraska Water Leaders Program Class VIII. She currently serves on the York County Extension Board. In addition to her other responsibilities at the NRD, Krausnick has served as the wellness coordinator for the staff for many years, encouraging healthy eating and an active lifestyle among employees, as well as community-focused charitable giving.
