Upper Big Blue NRD Seeks Applicants for Board Vacancy
The Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District is seeking a qualified and engaged community member to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors. Individuals who are passionate about natural resources, conservation, and community service are encouraged to apply for the vacant Sub-District 8 position.
Role of the Board of Directors
The Upper Big Blue NRD serves all or portions of nine counties. The Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding the district’s mission by overseeing programs and policies related to a variety of natural resource management programs and services, including groundwater regulation, soil and water conservation, flood prevention and control, forestry, wildlife habitat, and parks and recreation. Board members help shape decisions that impact local communities, landowners, and the district’s natural environment.
Application Process
Interested individuals must submit a letter of application addressed to the General Manager. At a minimum, the letter must include the applicant’s place of residence and indicate that the applicant is a registered voter. Applicants are also encouraged to provide additional information regarding their qualifications, experience, and interest in serving on the Board.
Application materials must be received at the NRD office no later than July 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. (CDT).
The Board of Directors will review all submissions and may conduct interviews prior to appointment. The appointment will fill the remainder of the current term, ending January 2027, with the opportunity to run for election in the next general election cycle.
